The Legacy of Bach (BE)
Frauke Elsen founded The Legacy of Bach ensemble in 2019 after completing her master's degree in baroque oboe at the Royal Conservatoire in Brussels. She surrounded herself with a group of very talented and creative musicians who wanted to join her musical story. The Legacy of Bach, in an unchanged line-up, has since played at well-known venues such as Piano Maene (Ruiselede), Midi Minimes (Brussels), Apero Classico (CC Guldenberg Wevelgem), Stapelconcerten (Gent), ART.27 (Tienen), St- Baafskerk Aardenburg (NL), St-Jacobskerk Gent (Gentse Feesten), … A recording of the live concert could be heard on Musiq3.
Frauke Elsen gregrew up in Tielt, where she studied oboe, piano, viola and singing at the music academy. She has a master's degree in oboe at the IMEP in Namur with Eric Speller, a master's degree in singing at the Lemmens Institute in Leuven with Catherine Vandevelde and a bachelor's degree in baroque oboe at the Royal Conservatoire in Brussels in June 2019 with Marcel Ponseele. Frauke has received awards at competitions such as Vlamo, Dexia Classics, Lions International Music Competition and New Tenuto. She performed together with Anne-Sophie Mutter, Isabelle Faust, Patricia Kopatchinskaja, Vladimir Ashkenazy, Pablo Heras-Casado, Alan Gilbert, Philippe Herreweghe, in halls such as the Elbphilharmonie (Hamburg), Cologne Philharmonic, Luxembourg Philharmonic, Pierre Boulez Hall (Berlin), Amsterdam Concertgebouw, Suntory Hall Tokyo, Shanghai Oriental Arts Center... She plays historical instruments regularly at BachPlus, Il Gardellino, le Concert d'Anvers and Organum Alden Biezen. She teaches at the academies in Antwerp and Knokke-Heist, where, in addition to the oboe class, she also takes the department for young talents under her wing.

Violinist Ana Julija Mlejnik Železnik has achieved success on international stages and has debuted as a soloist in Japan, France, England, Belgium, the Netherlands, Italy, Slovenia (Cankarjev dom), Croatia, Montenegro, Malta, Canada and to India. Among other things, in 2008, during the visit of the British Queen Elizabeth II. and the Duke of Edinburgh played as a soloist with the Police Orchestra in the great hall of the Slovenian Philharmonic. She shared the stage with many great musical names, such as George Pehlivanian, Bartholomeus Henri Van De Velde, Yuzuko Horigome, Antonio Meneses, Lorenzo Cossi, Lana Trotovšek, and others. In December 2018, the University of Ljubljana awarded her the title of assistant at the Academy of Music in Ljubljana. In addition, she is the artistic director of the chamber music festival Loka da Camera in Škofja Loka. She won the first prize at the international competition of young musicians in Genoa. She likes to participate in chamber ensembles and is a permanent member of the Tamino Quartet, the Lontrg Trio, the Valvasor Piano Trio and the Baroque ensembles The Legacy of Bach and Praprotno seme.

Aag Dereymaeker ststudied violin with Nico Baltussen and chamber music with Jaap Kruithof and Roel Dieltiens at the Lemmens Institute in Leuven. A few years later, she obtained a diploma in baroque violin from Stedelijk Conservatorium Leuven with Marianne Herssens. He is part of the permanent core of the chamber orchestra La Passione from Lier, occasionally represents Belgium together with Hubert Boon at folklore festivals and participates in all kinds of projects, from musical theater to pop and musical productions. In 2007, Aag became Klara's classical music ambassador for her work with Violet, an unusual string orchestra she founded in 2002 that donates all profits to a sister project in South Africa. Last May, she was a guest lecturer at the ESTA international conference in Cremona, Italy. Over the years, Aag has built a solid private class in Leuven, teaches at the Jette Academy, and collaborates with the Lennik Music Academy.
Croatian-Ethiopian violist Hiwote Tadesse works as solo violist of the Zagreb Philharmonic. As a chamber musician, she is also a member of the Croatian Baroque Ensemble, the Illyrian Ensemble, and the Max Bruch Trio. Hiwote is the winner of several international awards (Citta di Barletta in Italy, Grand Prix at the International Competition of Young Musicians in Moscow, etc.), and as a soloist she has performed with the Orchestra of the Royal Conservatory in Ghent, the La Chapelle Sauvage ensemble and the Croatian Baroque Ensemble. She graduated with the highest grades from the Elly Bašić Music Academy (Croatia), the Belgian Royal Conservatory, the Maastricht Conservatory in the Netherlands and was a resident artist at the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel (Belgium) under the mentorship of Michael Kugel and Miguel da Silva.
After studying cello, chamber music and musicology at various French institutions, French cellist Lorraine Brosse obtained a National Supérieur Professionnel de Musicien diploma, a teaching qualification, and a license in musicology. Attracted to early music, she obtained a master's degree in historical cello at the Royal Conservatoire in Brussels and is currently specializing in medieval violin at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis. She is passionate about chamber music and regularly performs in various aesthetic formations, from Renaissance compositions (e.g. Les Sonadori or Vox in Rama) to contemporary French chanson. In 2011, she founded the quartet (flute and strings) "Les Rideaux Rouges", which offers the public an original approach to classical music that combines movement, poetry, humour... In the desire to connect music with other branches of art, she regularly collaborates with actors, dancers, poets and collaborates with contemporary composers. Lorraine teaches cello in Burgundy at the Autun Conservatory.
Mexican double bass player Valeria Sánchez Santana has been living in Amsterdam since 2011. She studied at the Amsterdam Conservatory with Margaret Urquhart (Orchestra of the Eighteenth Century), where she specialized in violone. During her studies, many renowned musicians encouraged her love for baroque music, such as Alfredo Bernardini, Teunis Van der Zwart, Richard Egarr, Benny Aghasi, Sigiswald Kuijken, Robert Franenberg, Hidemi Suzuki, Viola de Hoog and Marten Root. Valeria plays as an independent musician in various ensembles in the Netherlands: Orchestra of the 18th century, Florilegium Musicum, The Bach Choir and Orchestra of the Netherlands, Margareta Consort, Atlantic Symphony Orchestra, Kabinet Ensemble, Arx Ensemble Ardens. Sometimes she also plays in foreign ensembles, such as the Bremen Baroque Orchestra or the Nordic Baroque Orchestra (Trondheim).
Sandra Van der Gucht studied as a versatile keyboardist at the Lemmens Institute in Leuven, where she first obtained a master's degree with honours in piano, and in later years in chamber music, organ, and harpsichord. Sandra recently performed as a soloist with Bach's Brandenburg Concerto V BWV 1050 and Harpsichord Concerto in D minor BWV 1052, Poulenc's Organ Concerto and Krebs' Harpsichord Concerto WV 204. In addition, she performed in various ensembles as basso continuo, in chamber music, with four-hand improvisation concerts (with Jozef Sercu), as an accompanist for choirs, organ soloist, ... In 2020, Sandra released "Piano-adventures" on HRDSCR editions, an active fill and play package for piano beginners with no musical background. Sandra is a piano and group music teacher at the Kunstbrug Academy in Gentbrugge and teaches accompaniment and piano at the Conservatory - School of Arts - HoGent.
