Petra Vrh Vrezec - samozaposlena v kulturi, pevka (Ljubljana, SI)

OperArija brings together singers, instrumentalists, other musicians, actors, and directors who are close to the classical genre of music. We stage well-thought-out performances and concerts, with which we want to break taboos about opera and classical music and thus enthuse children, youth, and adults about this type of music. Since the fall of 2016, we have been performing with a high-profile performance for the youngest "First encounter with opera". At the end of 2018, we also prepared an exciting performance for young people, "The Teenage Barber". In 2020, the show for the youngest "I will become a famous opera singer" will be held again. With our musical projects, we excite even adults who are a little reluctant to this genre of music (Fun concert "(Z)opera", "Birdsong as a composer's inspiration", etc.).

PETRA VRH VREZEC, soprano, is the conceptual and artistic director of OperArija. In SNG Opera and Ballet Ljubljana between 2013 and 2020, she recreated the roles of the Queen of the Night in "The Magic Flute", Ninon from the opera "Gorenjski slavček", Oscar from "Dance in Masks", Adele from "The Bat" and Minerva from "Orpheus in the Underworld". As a concert singer, she performed with many orchestras and chamber groups and prepared several solo recitals. Since she is also a biologist by profession, her special passion is birds and their singing, so she likes to perform musical literature about birds and nature. He wants the word about the importance of protecting the already destroyed nature to reach the ears of art lovers, who may be a little further away from nature.
