OperArija (SI)

Founded in 2016, OperArija brings together singers, musicians, narrators, actors, and directors with a shared passion for classical music, particularly opera. Its mission is to stage thoughtfully conceived performances aimed at breaking down prejudices surrounding opera and inspiring children, young people, and adults alike to appreciate opera and classical music. The ensemble primarily focuses on educational performances for children, introducing classical music to the most demanding and genuine audience of all. This offers hope that both classical music and opera still have a bright future ahead. Equally important is the adult audience, whom the ensemble seeks to inspire through carefully designed programmes, direction, props, costumes, and performances sung in the Slovenian language. Their latest projects are concerts inspired by themes from nature, opening people’s hearts and conveying how beautiful nature becomes alongside music, as well as how important it is to listen to and respect it.
