Seviqc 2025
The Seviqc 2025 festival programme is published at https://www.seviqc.si/splosno.2.html. Ticket prices, benefits and the order form have been published as well. We are starting with a low price, which will gradually increase until the beginning of the festival in August. The move of the festival residence to Celje has provided a new impetus, with the locations consolidated this year, we are staging one concert next year in the exceptionally acoustic atrium of the Princely Palace and one concert in the stunningly beautiful Plečnik Church in Stranje. I am glad that so many Slovenian artists have managed to follow the Seviqc program requirements and that there are also strong connections with international ones. Strong Slovenian participation with the top international scene is becoming a constant and the 2026 program is already being shaped in this direction.
I would like to thank everyone who donated to us from their income tax. Those of you who have not yet done so, I’m inviting to support our efforts in consolidating the Slovenian early music scene.
Although donations from income tax are already a fairly established form of joint support of citizens of the Republic of Slovenia and the state, it is not unreasonable to mention again that if a citizen issues such a request, he/she does not pay any more or less of his/her contributions, but only specifies the organization that will receive his/her funds, which the state forgoes in favour of the non-governmental sector.
We have invested a lot of effort into a more appropriate cultural policy for the country. The Ministry of Culture has already followed our suggestions to some extent, and more about this can be found at https://www.seviqc.si/messages.html.
I also thank everyone who supported the petition We demand the right to defence in the co-financing of non-governmental culture. I received another 21 paper signatures, which I will forward to the WeMove Europe headquarters in Berlin. This brings our total to 601 signatures.
I wish you all a merry Christmas and an all-round good year 2025.
Kind regards
Klemen Ramovš
