Jorge Jiménez (ES)

Jorge Jiménez is one of the most sought-after violinists of our days. He is known for his meticulous and exciting approach, performing music in the style and on the instruments for which it was composed, from the Middle Ages to the 21st century. In addition to being the founder and director of the acclaimed early and experimental music ensemble Tercia Realidad, Jorge is concertmaster of groups such as La Arpeggiata (France), The Hanover Band (United Kingdom), Forma Antiqva (Spain), La Risonanza (Italy), Capella Cracoviensis (Poland), I Fagiolini (United Kingdom), and Laudonia Ensemble (Austria).
Jorge collaborates as a guest conductor with the Berlin opera company Kiez Oper, the Northern Chamber Orchestra, and Capella Cracoviensis. He is also a guest leader of orchestras such as Orquesta de la Comunitat Valenciana – Palau de Les Arts Valencia, Orquesta del Principado de Asturias, Real Filharmonía de Galicia, and Opera Ballet Vlaanderen, among others. Jorge appears regularly as musical director and guest soloist at Shakespeare's Globe Theatre in London, where he has directed productions such as The Secret Theatre, premiering music by Alexander Balanescu, and Four Seasons with music by Max Richter.
Jorge has recorded for labels such as Atlantic Records, Naxos, Hyperion, DLR-Capriccio, Lindoro, La Ma de Guido, and Prometeo. With his eclectic solo violin programmes, Jorge has toured extensively across Australia, Europe, South America, and Canada, performing in cities such as Istanbul, Seville, Barcelona, Biecz, Świdnica, Krakow, London, Manchester, Berlin, Madrid, Paris, Varaždin, Cochabamba, Montreal, Melbourne, and Adelaide.
In 2021, Jorge released his album Lunaris for GWK Records (Germany), together with recorder player Anna Stegmann, for whom he composed several electronic soundscapes that critics described as “out of this world.” In 2022, Jorge released his groundbreaking transcription of Bach’s Goldberg Variations for the Pan Classics label.
