  • The solo parts were entrusted to some of the finest Slovenian singers, primarily from the younger generation, with each soloist performing several roles. Inez Osina Rues captivated the audience with admirable versatility, a refined vocal technique, and the warmth with which she embodied the role of the cow mother.   • The solo roles in the first revival were once again assigned skilfully and appropriately: … Mrs Meg and Mrs Quickly were interpreted by Elena Dobravec and Inez Osina Rues … All the soloists performed at an equally high technical and artistic level, fully commensurate with the scope and demands of their roles. … The refined sense of humour embedded in the score and brought to life by an excellent, well-coordinated cast, evidently inspired by fruitful collaboration, resulted in an entertaining production that achieved its effect without unnecessary exaggeration or vulgarity.
