My artistic mission:
I am one of today’s most sought-after and eclectic baroque violinists in Europe. My approach to music is both meticulous and full of excitement, and I always strive to ensure that each performance captures the essence of its time and the character of the instrument. I am the founder and director of the award-winning Early Music ensemble Tercia Realidad, and I regularly perform as concertmaster with renowned groups such as L’Arpeggiata, The Hanover Band, Forma Antiqva, La Risonanza, and Capella Cracoviensis. I also serve as a guest musical director and soloist at Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre in London, where I have the privilege of contributing to the theatre’s unique musical storytelling.
A significant part of my artistic journey is devoted to rediscovering and reviving the solo violin repertoire. My award-winning programmes for solo baroque violin have been performed across Australia, Europe, South America, and Canada. With each of them, I aim to offer audiences a unique musical experience — a deep and intimate journey into the core of the violin’s sound.

Tañer: A Journey into the Heart of Spanish Baroque
Join Jorge Jiménez on a journey through the world of Spanish Baroque guitar music—an evening dedicated to rediscovering the soulful melodies of this iconic instrument, reimagined and reinterpreted like never before. At the core of this experience stands Jorge Jiménez, a celebrated Spanish Baroque violinist of extraordinary virtuosity and deep insight into early music. With exceptional artistry, he offers a fresh vision of some of the most iconic works from the Spanish Baroque, crafting a hypnotic soundscape that pays homage to Spain’s rich musical heritage while opening up a bold, contemporary perspective.
Jorge Jiménez is not only a distinguished Baroque violinist but also a highly respected interpreter of early music whose passion and expertise have brought him international acclaim. Renowned for his precision and expressive power, he has become a leading figure in the world of Baroque performance, particularly in the interpretation of Spanish repertoire. His playing is a unique synthesis of historical awareness and personal expression, preserving the authenticity of Baroque music while breathing new life into it. This fusion is precisely what makes Tañer such a remarkable programme.
This project pays tribute to Spanish Baroque music, especially to compositions originally written for the Spanish guitar—an instrument symbolic of the country’s rich cultural identity. Jiménez turns to the works of four seminal composers, reinterpreting them for the Baroque violin with fresh insight and deep respect. Gaspar Sanz, whose music draws from Spanish folk traditions, captures the spirit of 17th-century Spain with lively rhythms and intricate harmonies; Jiménez retains that character while enriching it with new interpretive nuances. Santiago de Murcia, a key figure in spreading the Spanish guitar throughout Europe, merges folk vitality with Baroque refinement; Jiménez highlights the delicate balance Murcia achieved between complexity and expressive clarity. Luis de Millán is known for his contemplative and lyrical voice, which Jiménez explores through new textures and colours, allowing the emotional subtleties of Millán’s music to emerge afresh. And finally, Domenico Scarlatti—Italian by birth but Spanish by adoption—whose keyboard sonatas, imbued with flamenco rhythms and Iberian harmonies, are reimagined by Jiménez into a vibrant synthesis of Italian and Spanish Baroque styles.
Tañer explores the essence of what it means to play, pluck, and touch an instrument. In Jiménez’s hands, this act transcends technical display and becomes an expression of music’s power to transport, transform, and mesmerise. Each note awakens a sense of wonder, as if this centuries-old music were being heard for the very first time.
More than a concert, this is a fully immersive experience. As Jiménez’s bow draws sound from gut strings, the audience is enveloped in an atmosphere that evokes the sights, sounds, and emotions of Baroque Spain. The venue, lit by candlelight and enriched with warm acoustics, becomes an intimate setting where each phrase resonates deeply. Every piece is thoughtfully chosen and interpreted to form a cohesive narrative that bridges past and present. The audience is invited to surrender to the moment, where the boundary between performer and listener dissolves, and what remains is pure, transcendent beauty.
By transposing these works from guitar to violin, Jiménez reveals hidden dimensions of melody, rhythm, and harmony. His approach honours the original compositions while allowing his distinctive musical voice to shine through. Tañer is not a museum piece, but a living conversation between eras—a bold yet respectful reimagining that treats early music as a vibrant, contemporary art form. Whether you are a seasoned Baroque enthusiast or encountering this repertoire for the first time, this programme promises something rare and meaningful. For lovers of Spanish music, it offers a new way to experience familiar masterpieces; for newcomers, it opens a door into a world of emotional richness and artistic depth.
At its core, Tañer is about rediscovery. Jiménez’s interpretations show us that centuries-old works still have much to say. He challenges us to hear early music not as a relic of the past, but as a living, breathing form of artistic expression that continues to inspire and move us. With Tañer, Jorge Jiménez offers both a heartfelt tribute to Spain’s musical tradition and a powerful artistic statement. Don’t miss this opportunity to hear these masterworks as never before—through the expressive voice of one of today’s most compelling Baroque violinists.
Soteska, Devil's tower

The most interesting jewels of Slovenia's landscape are very often those that are shrouded in a veil of mystery. One such place is the Devil's Tower in Soteska, a little village between two forested plateaux. The tower has stood here for over three hundred years, a place of entertainment and sinful pleasure.
