Nova Europa: Melodies and palimpsests of a world in formation

A palimpsest is a manuscript page whose text was scraped off so it could be used again, a process which was common in periods where parchment was too valuable to be wasted on one text alone. In the palimpsest two eras inhabit the same location, one covering the other. Seconda Pratica invites our audience to a program dedicated to the complex process of expansion and mutation that marks baroque colonial repertoire: an Old World being rewritten by a New Europe.
