The Third European Day of Early Music – 21 March 2015
For the third consecutive edition, the European Day Of Early Music goes big! Launched by the European Early Music Network (REMA), the celebration is presented in cooperation with the European Broadcasting Union (EBU).
Live performances, a new website, a platform of live streamed concerts and an increased presence on social networks will allow early music to be heard all over Europe!
On 21 March 2015, Johann Sebastian Bach’s anniversary day and first day of spring, a multitude of events (concerts, conferences, workshops…) will pay homage to a European historical musical heritage of more than 1000 years!
“On a European map, exposed to social and political changes that also impact on culture, the Early Music represents a powerful tool of union, a common reference being transmitted from heart to heart. Of this, the European Day of Early Music is a great example!”, Peter Pontvik, president of REMA comments.

With the European Day of Early Music 2015 a new webradio called REMARADIO.EU will come to life. It will focus exclusively on Early Music festivals and young Early Music ensembles. In the first few months REMARADIO.EU will broadcast mostly recordings of live concerts, but will soon start preparing its own programme with interviews and reports from backstage.
REMA has also prepared a form for anyone who wishes to organise an event to join the European Day of Early Music and thus promote early music.
In the following newsletters we will also inform you about event that we will organise to celebrate the day.
