Resolution on the National Programme for Culture 2022‒2029

21. 12. 2021

At its regular session on 17 December 2021, the Government determined the text of the draft Resolution on the National Programme for Culture 2022‒2029 (ReNPK22–29) and sent it to the National Assembly for consideration in accordance with the regular procedure. I am glad that the Ministry of Culture has taken note of my comment and mentioned early music when citing traditional musical genres that have developed through the long history of musical art (page 35).

I am also glad that the Resolution recognizes (page 24) that in addition to the Public Fund for Cultural Activities of the Republic of Slovenia (coordinator of amateur activities), greater accessibility, diversity, and quality of culture in the entire country is achieved also through the activities of state and local public institutions and libraries operating outside major settlements. However, I miss, as I suggested, that non-governmental organizations that make a significant contribution to a good cultural offer are not mentioned.

The Resolution on the National Programme for Culture is, along with the Act on the Realization of the Public Interest in Culture (ZUJIK), the most important document of cultural policy and I wish it a happy path in its efforts for a good and successful cultural scene.
