Invitation to the festival opening

Dear friends of early music and the Seviqc Brežice Festival,
 
I am happy to inform you that tickets for our coming concerts are now on sale. The festival programme is available on our website http://www.seviqc-brezice.si/dogodki.html. After having witnessed another successful European Day of Early Music, we are opening the main festival programme on 10 July with Dido and Aeneas. The first part will include excerpts from Desmarest’s opera Didon tragedie, and the second part the complete Dido and Aeneas by Henry Purcell, along with a comeback by Academie baroque européenne d'Ambronay led by Paul Agnew and with the support of the Creative Europe Programme of the European Commission.
 
Tickets for all currently announced concerts are EUR 10 if purchased in June. In case of later payment, they are available at EUR 25 (on the day of the concert) and EUR 20 (a day before the concert), the price being further decreased by EUR 2 per each month of earlier purchase. Later concerts will follow as soon as we receive appropriate support at the locations where we are currently still engaged in talks. The top international artists in our »arts room« are eager for this to happen; owing to its magnificent architectural landscape, Slovenia is an appealing destination in the European early music arena.
