Honorary patronage of the Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts
It is with great pleasure and pride that we announce that, at its session on 23 February 2026, the Executive Board of the Presidency of the Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts decided that the Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts will once again assume the honorary patronage of the Seviqc festival this year. The Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts has been our honorary patron continuously since 2014.
The Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts (SASA), founded in 1938, is the highest national scientific and artistic institution. It brings together scholars and artists elected to membership in recognition of their outstanding achievements in science and the arts. Its activities are governed by the Act on the Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts (SASA Act). SASA cultivates, promotes and advances science and the arts and, through its activities, contributes to the development of scientific thought and artistic creativity. It pays particular attention to fundamental questions of science and the arts; participates in shaping research and artistic policies; provides evaluations, proposals and opinions on the state, development and advancement of science and the arts, as well as on the organisation of research and artistic work; organises research activities in cooperation with universities and other research institutions, especially in fields important for understanding the natural and cultural heritage of the Slovenian nation and for the development of its language and culture; and fosters international cooperation in science and the arts.
