French Early Music Focus

17. 10. 2017

From 28 September to 1 October 2017, the French Early Music Focus was organized by the Institut français, where 33 delegates from Asia and Oceania, the Middle East, North and South America and Europe were invited.

Of the 17 Europeans, there were 10 REMA members. Focus started at the Château de Versailles and the Versailles Centre of musical baroque, where French Revolution started, at Auditorium de Lyon and at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Lyon, with the bulk being held at the Centre culturel de rencontre d'Ambronay, considered one of the world's most important producers of early music. The Centre de musique baroque de Versailles presented us its exceptional concert and publishing production and digital archive of baroque prints, which was made available to users free of charge, at the workshop in Lyon the Audition of the Early Music Class project was presented, in Ambronay three workshops were held: artistic exchanges for professionals from North and South America, from Europe, and from Asia.

In addition to our own activities, the delegates presented the French artists they represent, and at the individual interviews, the best French artists were presented to delegates. This is a completely new approach when European cultural policy also includes activities on other continents and promotes new networking, higher quality of production and France's leading role in the field of early music. In addition to this, the organizers also prepared some excellent concerts: Ensemble Céladon, duo Louis-Noël Bestion de Camboulas and Lambert Colson, Les Surprises, Correspondances, Canticum, Goldfinch Ensemble, Traversées baroques and Les Arts Florissants.

On 7 and 8 October 2017, the Festival eeemerging 2017 took place in Ambronay, where Centre culturel de rencontre d'Ambronay presented six ensembles of the eeemerging network: Castello Consort, 4 Times Baroque, Il Quadro Animato, Concerto di Margherita, La Vaghezza and Continuu-m.
