Exploring Towns of Culture & FESTMEST

Our partner, the Association of Historic Towns of Slovenia, presents the new catalogue Exploring Towns of Culture, created in excellent cooperation with the Slovenian Tourist Board. It invites you to discover historic towns where culture thrives throughout the year, and where, in summer, town centres come alive as grand open-air stages for festivals, concerts, exhibitions and other cultural experiences. You are warmly invited to explore and visit.

While the catalogue offers inspiration for exploration, the FEST MEST festival transforms inspiration into experience. You are warmly invited to experience the stories of our towns in person this summer.

It is both an honour and a pleasure for us that the Seviqc festival concert on 13 August 2026 at the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary is included in the FEST MEST festival. Bach Collegium Barcelona will perform, featuring Adriana Alcaide (violin), Bruno Hurtado Gosálvez (viola da gamba) and our outstanding harpsichordist Ana Marija Krajnc. The programme includes all five Pièces de clavecin en concerts (1741) by Jean-Philippe Rameau (1683–1764). Admission to the concert and to the chat with the artists one hour before the concert at Café Oaza is free of charge; however, advance ticket reservation is recommended. The concert will be broadcast live by Radio Slovenia on its third channel, Program Ars.

Tickets are still available at present, although the concert venues are gradually filling up. Purchasing tickets earlier not only means a lower ticket price, but also guarantees admission.
