European day of early music with Le Phénix

13. 03. 2017

Dear early music lovers!

Our artists posted: The ensemble Le Phénix performs the music for recorder trio of very diverse genres from different periods; from the Middle Ages through the Ars Nova and Italian Trecento until the late Baroque.Ensemble performs also contemporary literature of authors of the 20th and 21st centuries. We are dealing with historical versions of pieces based on the research of historical performance practice and interpretation of different styles. For this purpose, we use original historical instruments, suited to the selected repertoire. Specifically for you we took our repertoire of the first part of the concert from the rich treasury of Renaissance polyphony and dance homofon and vocal music, as it was the practice at that time. In the second part of the concert we will take you to the Baroque period with the sounds of three alto recorders. As this was a common practice at the time, we are performing the pieces for traverse flutes with usual third transposition.

I invite you to celebrate the European Day of Early Music: March 21, at 20:00, in the Knights' Hall of the Brežice Castle. More information about this event you can find at: http://www.seviqc-brezice.si/european-day-of-early-music-with-le-phenix.html

We look forward to join your company.
