eeemerging ensembles, the 2016 selection

15. 10. 2015

European cooperation project promoting the emergence of new talents in early music

In 2014 we have as partners of the eeemerging project obtained European funds in the framework of the Creative Europe programme. Over the next four years the project will offer young European early music ensembles art residencies and professional training, excellent working conditions, support and organization of their projects, as well as help with competing in the early music market in Europe. The ensembles are chosen at auditions and the support they receive spans from one to three years. The project is led by the Association Art et Musique d'Ambronay (Ambronay, FR)  and its partners: Ars Ramovš Institute for Art, Marketing, Promotion, and Investment (Ljubljana, SI), Collegio Ghislieri di Pavia (Pavia, IT), Internationale Händel Festspiele Göttingen (Göttingen, DE), Ozango (Strasbourg, FR), Rīgas Senās mūzikas centrs (Rīga, LV), The York Early Music Foundation (York, GB) and Universitatea naţională de muzică din Bucureşti (Bucureşti, RO). The project is also supported by 37 international partners and 6 European professional networks.

In 2015 the guests of the eeemerging art residencies and festivals have been the three astounding young ensembles: Camerata Bachiensis, Amsterdam Corelli Collective and Voces Suaves.

The 2016 eeemerging ensembles

The 8 eeemerging co-organisers selected 6 ensembles to join the eeemerging program in 2016 for a first year of support.
Among 47 applications received, 14 ensembles have been auditioned in September and 4 have been selected : Ensemble Prisma, I Discordanti, Goldfinch Ensemble and The Curious Bards.

Consone Quartet and Nexus Baroque won the eeemerging prize during the York Early Music Festival in July and therefore had been directly selected.

These 6 ensembles will each benefit from several periods of residency, hosted by the
co-organisers, as well as specific training in promotion, administration, marketing and communication, artistic coaching, staging, etc.
They will perform concerts at the eeemerging co-organisers and partners venues.

During the eeemerging Festival in Ambronay on October 3rd and 4th, the partners listened to the 6 ensembles selected in 2015 and voted for 4 of them: BarrocoTout, les Contre Sujets, Repicco and Sollazzo have been selected for a second year of support.

Repicco won the Audience Award in Ambronay’s Festival.

Seconda Pratica and Voces Suaves will benefit from a 3rd year of support, including residencies, concerts and the recording of a CD in the Young Ensemble Collection of Ambronay Editions.
