Call for help for the Youth Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine

Hundreds of thousands of people have been forced to flee their homes because of the conflict in Ukraine. People are facing a humanitarian catastrophe in the middle of Europe. So far, more than two millions people have fled across international borders. Many of them were able to take only what they could carry with them. The Slovenian Youth Orchestra (SMO) with conductor SNG Opera and Ballet Ljubljana and artistic director SMO Živa Ploj Peršuh responded to a request for help in distress of the Youth Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine (YSOU), led by internationally renowned conductor Oksana Lyniv, who is also artistic head of the Bologna Theatre.

SMO cooperates with the competent authorities, the City of Ljubljana and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the organization YSOU from Ukraine and is ready to help and provide evacuation and first humanitarian aid and accommodation and further assistance in case of longer stays. We depend on donations to fund this care, so we desperately need your help.
